I'm new to the world of canning so excuse me for my rookie question. I did my first batch of pickles and everything seemed to seal perfectly. I've been reading up on things and I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information about reusing the flat lids. The rings are obviously fine, but some people say the lids can be reused if they've only been used once and still look perfect, while others say absolutely never. The lids I used look totally fine, and I'd hate to throw them out if they're still good. I'm also concerned of contamination and other food safety issues.
Is it a definite no, or are there specific situations where it might be okay? I'd appreciate any advice you can offer!
